Treat Yourself Well

Caring for You

Nurturers are prone to be more attentive to the needs of others over their own. Some people are innately kind and have no desire to offend others. How many of us extend this kindness to ourselves, unconditionally?

Suffering from the loss of an unborn baby is painful. The pain comes from all fronts. The sorrow felt seems unbearable at the time but it’s in the past. Thinking of that pain should make it imperative for us to treat ourselves well. It’s not about having earned it, it is truly deserved.

What I write ministers to me, as well. I’m listening to Bebe Winan’s, Sinner Saved by Grace” from his “Cherch” CD. I tend to listen to gospel music most and especially when I write. I am drawn into his Holy presence. Writer’s block isn’t an issue. He downloads to me and from the heart. My fingers then move with agility across the keyboard. The sound becomes rhythmic.

I do not take myself too seriously but I take ministering seriously. People are hurting. I hurt sometimes. If we blame ourselves for what happened we are not treating ourselves well. We must be careful not to blame anyone else, either. Forgive.

Never assume guilt. Accept responsibility. Move on and dismiss guilt. It (whatever it is) has happened and if (whatever it is) hasn’t happened, we are powerless to do anything except remain faithful and obedient. Remember, charity begins at home. *warm smile*

Be good to you. Psalm 23 tells us that “goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.” And it will.

Blessed regards,
Avis
